In what was an engaging, sometimes tense affair, Typhoon managed to take the upper hand through timely defending and quality finishing. Although Typhoon never trailed in the match, Esbjerg did manage to tie the match three times, with strong outside shooting, lucky bounces, and one fine header. Yet Typhoon rose to the challenge each time, responding with fine goals of their own.
Striker/Midfielder Edu recorded the Green Machine's first goal of the match. Striker Radu once again showed why he can draw a crowd of markers as he powered a staggering 5 goals past the Esbjerg 'keeper.
Despite the dominant striking, the match remained close until the final stretch. It was a period reminiscent of the end of a tight hockey match, as the Esbjerg goalkeeper joined the attack as his side searched for an equalizer. Indeed, it was the goalkeeper who launched a dipping shot from about 15 yards that proved the most difficult test of the morning for Typhoon 'keeper Dan. The shot was turned aside, however, the ball quickly put back into play and then cooly slotted into the goal by Radu to ensure that the club's record stayed perfect.
Typhoon FC look to build upon their success Saturday, November 21st at 2pm against undefeated Internazionale LA at Playa Vista.
